The Instagram Planner As Told By Influencer Jessica Harumi | Exclusive Interview

LOVET INSIDER has the scoop for you on why people are all the buzz about the Instagram Planner. It’s a game-changing tool for any Instagram influencer looking to add more structure to the way they prep and post content! When we first launched the Instagram Planner, we connected with Jessica Harumi to give it a test drive. After several months of using it, we checked in for an interview and what she has to say about it is so indicative of why we do what we do!

LOVET INSIDER: Tell us about the origins of your profile.

Jessica: I started my profile a little over a year ago as a way to share fashion-related content, mostly outfit pictures in my room. I was consuming so much fashion content via Instagram, YouTube and blogs that I became inspired to create something for myself. And that's still what I'm doing now but I like to think I've come into a better understanding of my niche with capsule wardrobes and a minimalist approach to fashion.

LOVET INSIDER: How would you describe social media and the opportunities it presents?

Jessica: I think social media is an incredible tool and resource for creatives. I've been able to connect with awesome people who are doing work that inspires and motivates me to keep going. It has also given me the chance to be discovered by and partner with brands that I really admire, all while just starting out. I know there's a big focus on numbers but I think brands often seek out smaller accounts putting out quality content and genuinely connecting to their community.

LOVET INSIDER: How has your Instagram and social media profiles evolved since you first started (look, content, etc)?

Jessica: One major change in my content is that I've started trying to shop slower and more sustainably, utilising a capsule wardrobe each season and generally embracing quality over quantity. And while I still have a long way to go, my content is more focused now because I just have more to say about that then just talking about clothes. I'm still figuring out how I like to shoot best but I think there's a bit more consistency in my editing and style overall.

LOVET INSIDER: How has the Instagram Planner helped you and what features do you love about it?

Jessica: My Instagram Planner helps me to think about the week as a whole and I've been able to develop a posting schedule around that - Blog shoot post on Tuesday, IGTV video on Fridays, etc. I love the 'Month at a Glance' pages because I can keep track of collaborations and collect hashtags that I want to use. I recently cohosted my first Instagram style challenge and the planner helped me so much with writing captions and keeping track of everything.

LOVET INSIDER: What was content posting like prior to the Instagram Planner?

Jessica: Before I had my planner I didn't really do any planning at all because I just didn't know where to start. Posting was always a spur of the moment thing and I would frantically type out captions on my lunch break or any spare moment I could get. While there's nothing wrong with that, it's just not the best way to go about trying to grow your account. Now if I have a good idea for a post, I can write it down in one place and come back to it when I have more time.

LOVET INSIDER: What's your quote to live by?

Jessica: "Trust in what you love, continue to do it, and it will take you where you need to go." - Natalie Goldberg
